Tress Address
The latest contestant in D.C.’s blow dry bar wars opened its pink-filled digs last month in Dupont Circle. Blo (2126 P St., NW; 202-293-2256; blomedry.com), part of an international chain, offers $40 shampoo and  blow-out combinations from the tousled “Pillow Talk” to the Anna Wintour-straight “Executive Sweet.” Stylists can also come to your home for  “blo on the go” service.

Skin, Again
Roanoke, va.-based designer Tricia Hash uses recycled leathers and African mudcloth to craft her minimalistic-cool line of bags, sold under the label Tree Fairfax (etsy.com/shop/treefairfax). Styles, which she sews by hand, include rich-hued backpacks (shown, $85), drawstring cross-body pouches ($40-45) and mudcloth totes ($60).

Market Research
Union Market: It’s not just for foodies anymore. Friday through Sunday, the second level of the hip Northeast D.C. warehouse welcomes back Thread, a pop-up bazaar selling clothing, accessories and home goods made by indie U.S. artisans (1309 Fifth St. NE; 301-652-7400; unionmarketdc.com/thread). D.C. vendors include Mutiny (rugged men’s clothing and curios), Saint Clair (globally inspired jewelry) and Politics & Prose bookstore.
